Microsoft gaming division suffers further layoffs

  Last week, it was   rumored   that Microsoft was getting ready for a major round of layoffs within the Xbox team.   Bloomberg  is now reporting   that employees in the company’s gaming division were informed of job cuts Wednesday morning. The PC giant has been on a cost-cutting mission lately,   announcing   it would let go of 3 percent of its global workforce earlier this summer, and announcing a   further 9,000 job cuts   on Wednesday. According to  Bloomberg , Microsoft’s Stockholm-based King division, famous for  Candy Crush , is laying off 10 percent of its staff, representing roughly 200 jobs. While some other European gaming offices are also cutting, US units are reportedly being informed later Wednesday.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has shared his response after a Starship prototype exploded during an on-ground test in Texas. The tech billionaire took to the social media platform X (earlier Twitter) to acknowledge this incident, which is a setback in SpaceX’s Mars ambitions and even shared information explaining what caused this mishap. The latest incident involved Starship 36 undergoing a static fire test at SpaceX’s Starbase facility , which authorities described as a "catastrophic failure." The test, which involved firing the rocket’s engines while it remained anchored, resulted in an explosion shortly after 11:00 PM local time (9.30 AM IST).

Buss family to sell Lakers to Mark Walter for $10B valuation

  The Buss family will keep a minority share of the team, just over 15%, for a period of time, a source said. In addition, Jeanie Buss will remain the Lakers' governor and continue to run the team for "at least a number of years," sources with knowledge of the deal told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. It was guaranteed as part of the agreement that Buss would remain in charge for the foreseeable future, and Walter fully endorsed this plan, according to sources. Walter, the CEO and chairman of diversified holding company TWG Global, has been a stakeholder in the Lakers since 2021, when he purchased Phil Anschutz's share of 26%. That also was when Walter received a right of first refusal on the majority share of the team.

Iran claims attacks by Israel could not have happened without US cooperation

  An Iranian spokesperson said attacks from Israel could not have happened without U.S. cooperation. Israel-Iran War:  Israel retaliated against Iran on early Saturday, carrying out air strikes against several military targets inside the country, Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said. Multiple Iranian media reports also confirmed the explosions at various locations in the capital, Tehran. The Israeli counterattack came weeks after Iran fired a missile barrage, using over 200 projectiles, against it, setting the stage for an imminent counterattack.

Terry Moran defends 'accurate' post about Stephen Miller, Trump after ABC ouster

  During a conversation with The Bulwark writer Tim Miller, Moran, a former senior national correspondent for ABC News, said of his post, "I wrote it because I thought it was true." In his original X post on June 8, Moran described Stephen Miller as "a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred" and said that his "hatreds are his spiritual nourishment." Majority of Americans disapprove of Trump's second term, but he leads on immigration: new poll

                               WASHINGTON – A majority of Americans say they disapprove of    second term – with even some Republicans hitting the president – as immigration remains his strongest policy issue. A new  conducted along with SurveyMonkey , found that 45% of Americans approve of the way Trump is handling his job as president, while 55% disapprove. Those figures remain unchanged  in April. Trump's rating differs along party lines. Among Republicans, 89% approve of the president's second term in office, compared to eight percent of Democrats and 35% of Independents . Approximately 12% of Republicans said they disapprove of the president's job, compared to 92% of Democrats and 65% of Independents.
